My work centres on helping people think clearly, lead with confidence, and navigate complex careers with purpose. Drawing on years of senior clinical leadership experience, I offer a grounded, strategic coaching approach that meets you exactly where you are - and moves you where you want to be.
Dr Ioanna Nixon, MPH, PhD
I’m Dr Ioanna Nixon — an oncologist, executive coach, and leadership strategist helping people and organisations lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
My work sits at the intersection of high-stakes healthcare, human behaviour, and evidence-based leadership development.
For over 15 years, I’ve led clinical teams, shaped strategy, and supported people through challenge, uncertainty, and change. Today, I bring that experience into coaching — helping leaders, teams, and organisations create clarity, strengthen resilience, and build cultures where people can thrive.
My path has been shaped by working and living across different countries and cultures. Being an international, non-native leader in the UK has taught me what it means to adapt, belong, and thrive in unfamiliar systems. It has given me a deeper empathy and a wider lens on what supports — and what pressures — people in leadership roles.
Alongside over 20 years in oncology, I’ve held senior academic and leadership positions, including Clinical Director for a major cancer service and Professor of Practice at Strathclyde Business School. These roles deepened my understanding of how people, culture and systems interact — and how leadership directly shapes wellbeing, performance and psychological safety.
My coaching draws on this blend of clinical experience, behavioural science, leadership practice and international perspective. I have seen first-hand how pressures such as perfectionism, burnout and self-doubt can affect even the most capable individuals. Coaching offers a protected, compassionate space to think clearly, build confidence, and make decisions with intention.
Whether I’m coaching a senior leader, supporting a clinician to thrive without burnout, or helping an organisation strengthen its culture, my focus is always the same: clarity, confidence and humane leadership — so people can do their best work without losing themselves in the process.
This is the heart of my work.
Lead well. Live well.

Across my career in oncology and leadership, I 've worked with people in their most complex and pivotal moments - where clarity matters and human connection shapes outcomes. Those experiences taught me that leaders rarely have a dedicated space to think, reflect, or grow.
Coaching gives me a way to offer that space: structures, safe, confidentla, strategic and grounded in real-world experience.
I coach because when leaders grow everything around them grows too.

Experienced in high-stakes leadership
From clinical crises to organisational change, I understand the realities of pressure, complexity, and decision-making at senior levels.

Helping you cut through noise and see what truly matters

Creating a safe, non-judgemental space for real conversations.

Supporting bold, meaningful action aligned with your values.

Evidence-based, structured coaching grounded in leadership science.

Turning complexity into clear, doable steps that create momentum.

A trusted, private space to explore challenges and growth.
I work as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in one of the UK’s busiest cancer centres. Over the years, I took on leadership roles that shaped how services worked, how teams collaborated, and how people could deliver high-quality care under pressure.
Through this, I became deeply interested in what helps humans lead well — not just in systems, but in life.
Coaching became the natural extension of that work.
Today, I coach individuals, teams, and organisations across healthcare and corporate sectors, supporting them to create clarity, navigate change, and build resilient, relational, high-performing cultures.
I’m also a mother of two, a writer, a podcaster, and someone who believes leadership is both a skill and a way of living.

Executives,
clinicians, and professionals seeking clarity, confidence, and sustainable success.

Multidisciplinary teams and leadership groups who want to improve communication, culture, resilience, and collaboration.

Healthcare organisations and companies seeking support with leadership development, culture change, quality improvement, and strategic clarity.
